PULLED PORK FUNDRAISER
This year’s event will be held on 09/25/2021 from 4-7pm at the Glen Berg commons.
The need to help children and teachers that are affected by APD (Auditory Processing Disorder) is greater now than ever. Restrictions and face coverings are creating those affected by APD a more challenging environment to learn. We welcome any financial contributions you are willing to make as we fight to help those in need. We are working on strategies and ideas to help a broader group as we look to purchase more Phonic devices, iPads and offer more information for parents and teachers to learn. The "How We Hear" foundation could not continue to offer the resources without your help. Thank you for your help in the past, present and future. If you would like to help there are several ways including sending a check to 130 Lake Drive in Dalton, Ohio, 44618 or clicking the button below.

ROADSIDE REPRESENTATION
Ava has a billboard! This sign on Kidron Road just south of Route 30 is part of our community awareness campaign. We’re hearing great things from travelers who have spotted it!
RACING AGAINST APD
Ava is 0.01 seconds off the school record in her track event, but because of her hearing, is having a slight delay at the starting line when the gun goes off. Her coach created this device that lights up when the gun goes off to help her have the same advantage of everyone else.
BRACELET FUNDRAISER
Ava is holding a container of hand-made bracelets that she made for anyone to buy. This photo is from 2014 when Ava was 11. Her nonprofit was not approved yet, but she wanted to start making money to buy iPads for other students. This is her first fundraiser, as she made rubber band bracelets for friends, family, and peers from school. Over the course of the winter, she made $199 by charging $.50 per bracelet.
CANDY FUNDRAISER
Ava sold hundreds of candy bars at four different work places to raise money for her foundation. This was the first official fundraiser.
PULLED PORK FUNDRAISER
The 2018 fundraiser was a huge success! Ava collected $11,000.00 that went to other kids that have APD.
AVA TALKING TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Ava has been busy raising awareness at schools, businesses, and professional organizations about APD. She has also been presenting thousands of dollars in equipment to students with devices and technology to help with APD.
